Donation to Mexican Children’s Foundation

Posted by - December 9, 2010

Los Niños del CapitanSeveral photos from Los Niños del Capitan, a Mexican children’s foundation to whom Muvezi has made a recent contribution, have been included below. This contribution was made following an exhibition of Shona stone sculptures in Puerto Paraiso Mall, Mexico.

Hundreds of hand-crafted world-class pieces of art are available through Muvezi’s galleries and online at www.Muvezi.com.

Los Niños del Capitan provides breakfast, lunch and education to the children of the community called “Tierra y Libertad.” Pictures of the homes where these children live have been included below.

This community is just 15 minutes from downtown Cabo San Lucas and Pedregal, affluent tourist destinations where average home prices are well over $1,000,000 USD.

Supporting these local children is an important part of Muvezi’s work.  We are actively striving to support people’s health and standard of living of Zimbabwe and other parts of the world, but are equally proud to empower these children who live in challenging situations right here in our own back yard.

Here are some sample homes where these children live.

Love Silver Sol in 2009

Posted by - January 4, 2010

We are excited to share news from our first full year of operations: over 2000 bottles of Love Silver Sol were given to people fighting infectious conditions in 2009.

A total of 46 cases of Love Silver Sol were sent to Ghana, Nepal, Mexico, Zimbabwe, and other locations. These 2300 bottles will help impoverished people combat infectious conditions like leprosy and malaria.

The largest partner charity involved in 2009’s effort was Global Mission Partners, an Oklahoma-based not-for-profit corporation serving persons who have little or no access to health care and adequate housing.

We are optimistic that 2010 will provide even more amazing results. With the help of a rapidly growing body of partners like you, we are confident that next year’s charitable impact will be even larger!

We are pleased to introduce a new partner in the international charitable distribution of silver sol: Global Mission Partners.

As you may already know, Muvezi Health Projects Society, a registered Canadian charity, provides Love Silver Sol free of charge to mission hospitals and partner charities with every purchase of Guardian Silver. Full details of this program are available at http://www.guardiansilversol.com/charity/ and http://www.muvezi.org/.

Global Mission Partners (GMP) is a 501-(c)-3 Oklahoma not-for-profit corporation serving persons who have little or no access to health care and adequate housing. Since 1999, GMP medical mission teams have partnered with other organizations to lead hundreds of volunteers to provide medical, surgical and dental services and health education for over 20,000 patients. Teams have served in Nepal, India, Ecuador, Kenya, Mexico, Haiti, and Russia.

The new flow of Love Silver Sol will be a welcome addition to those served by GMP. With each purchase of Guardian Silver Sol, customers can now choose to directly support GMP’s work in India, Kenya, Nepal, and Latin America.

Global Mission Partners was founded and is led by Dr. Bryan L. Frank, an Anesthesiology/Pain Medicine/Medical Acupuncture specialist. Dr. Frank has directed or participated in over 100 medical missions and global missions to redeveloping areas over the last 25 years. In his “regular” life, Dr. Frank is a widely recognized teacher at national and international medical symposia. He has served as President (1999-2001) of the American Academy of Medical Acupuncture (AAMA) and as President (2004-2006) of the International Council of Medical Acupuncture and Related Techniques (ICMART). He as been a Senior Instructor for the UCLA Medical School’s Medical Acupuncture for Physicians Program, has taught at the University of Miami, McMaster University, and the Harvard Medical School Acupuncture programs, and has authored or co-authored numerous medical articles, chapters, texts, and atlases.

In addition, Dr. Frank is an ordained Pastor in Oklahoma. It is from this background that Dr. Frank takes seriously the gospel call to “go into all the world” and heal. The prominent footer of the GMP website quotes Matthew 25:36, “For … I was sick and you took care of me.” Dr. Frank has accepted the call to go beyond, not out of, the practice of medicine and into the healing ministry.

We sincerely wish our new partners at Global Mission Partners continued success as we work together to provide hope to those in desperate need!
